In accordance with §11 PAngV (German ordinance regulating the indication of Prices), the last offer price shows the lowest price of the last 30 days after all usual direct discount deductions. Discounts such as cashback or trade-in, which are calculated or paid out after the purchase or by third parties without a contractual relationship with Hifi Foto Koch GmbH (service providers, agencies, manufacturers, etc.) or which require further action, are not included.
Many ambitious photographers will certainly prefer this 35 mm Lens to the more conventional 50 mm version. Through breakthrough design and cutting-edge production technology, we have improved the performance of the lens to a point where this lens matches the expressive power of the most advanced digital cameras. This fast wide-angle Lens gives a beautiful bokeh effect to the
background due to its wide F1.4 aperture. The F1.4 aperture allows you to create unique images in a variety of situations, such as shooting at dusk or handheld indoor portraits.
1. Our Art product line delivers high artistic quality
Sigma groups all of its interchangeable lenses into three product lines; Contemporary, Art and Sports. Our Art product line is designed for sophisticated optical performance and high expressiveness, and is suitable for special artistic expression. Designed with the artistic touch in mind, the lenses in our Art product line are specifically designed for users who value a creative, dramatic result more than compactness and versatility. In addition to landscapes, portraits, still lifes, close-ups and candid photography, these Lenses are ideal for the kind of photography that awakens the artist in a photographer. Not only are the Lenses ideal for studio photography, but they offer just as much expressive power in architectural shots, starry skies, underwater photography, and other scenes. The SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is the first lens in the Art product line.
Aberrations are a critical factor in a Lens's performance characteristics. In the realization of a high-performance Lens, image aberration correction is one of the most important tasks. In the case of chromatic aberration, a distinction is made between lateral chromatic aberration and longitudinal chromatic aberration. The lateral chromatic aberration can be corrected later in image processing software, whereas the longitudinal chromatic aberration cannot be corrected later. This Lens incorporates FLD ("F" low dispersion) glass elements, which have the same performance as fluoride glass, and SLD (special low dispersion) glass elements. By optimizing the power alignment of the Lens, both types of aberrations could be corrected. As a result, the Lens achieves an enormously high imaging performance over the entire distance range. Astigmatism and image field curvature have also been corrected by the matching alignment of aspherical lenses. This results in extremely high resolution even in the peripheral areas.
In 2005, SIGMA introduced a lens with a speed of F1.4 specially developed for digital cameras: the SIGMA 30 mm F1.4 EX DC HSM. Since then, we have produced many high-performance lenses using the latest lens technologies, including the standard SIGMA 50 mm F1.4 EX DG HSM lens designed specifically for full-frame sensors and the fast medium telephoto SIGMA 85 mm F1.4 EX DG HSM lens. This lens, the SIGMA 35 mm F1.4 DG HSM is our fourth lens to achieve the exceptionally expressive performance of F1.4 aperture. In wide-angle photography, this large aperture delivers excellent image brightness and wonderful bokeh.
4. Pleasant Bokeh Effect
Coma (asymmetry error) correction provides less blur for point light sources at the periphery, making the Lens ideal for astrophotography and illuminations. The near-round aperture provides a very pleasing bokeh outside the plane of focus of the image. The aspherical lens element, used as the first lens, provides the optimal edge illumination while correcting distortion.
5. Floating Internal Focusing System
This system enables correction of both astigmatism and spherical aberration, delivering extremely high optical performance in close-up photography. 6. Reflection and Ghosting Considering Design The high image quality of this flagship Lens was achieved by thoroughly evaluating reflections and ghosting at an early stage of design to create the optical design that is resistant to adverse incident light. Sigma Super Multi Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and delivers sharp, high-contrast images even when backlit.
7. Hyper Sonic Motor
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) drive provides fast, silent autofocus that can be manually intervened with at any time. With the improved AF algorithm, smoother AF is achieved.
8. Brass Bayonet
The Lens is equipped with a solid and precise brass bayonet. The special treatment of the surface to reinforce strength enables long-lasting use.
9. Ease of use
The new product lines include a rubber coating on the base of the supplied lens hood. For better operation, the design of the lens cap and AF/MF switch has been improved. To ensure high precision, metallic parts and the new composite material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), which has high metal affinity, are incorporated.
10. Newly developed "USB DOCK" specifically for the new product lines
Based on these new lines, we have developed special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro) that can be used, for example, to update the Lens firmware and adjust focus parameters.
11. Evaluation with Sigma "s own MTF measurement system "A1"
In the past, we measured the performance of our Lenses with MTF measurement systems that used conventional sensors. However, we have since developed our own MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system "A1", which uses the 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensor. Even previously undetectable high-frequency details have now become testable as part of our quality control. All Lenses in our new product lines are inspected by this "A1" before shipping.
12. "Made in Japan"
All of Sigma's manufacturing - down to the parts and molds - is done entirely in Japan based on an integrated production system. We are now one of the few manufacturers whose products are made exclusively in Japan. We like to think that our products carry the essence of our homeland, blessed with clear air and clean water and determined, hard-working people. We pride ourselves on the authentic quality of Sigma products as the result of a combination of highly specialized expertise and intelligent modern technology. Our sophisticated products have always met the demands of amateur and professional photographers worldwide, as our manufacturing is based on true craftsmanship and the passion and pride of our experts.
