Neben seinem Job als Förster hat Alex die Fotografie als weitere Möglichkeit entdeckt, der Natur näher zu kommen. Er liebt es, draußen Dinge zu beobachten, die den meisten Menschen verborgen bleiben. Seine absoluten Lieblingsmotive sind Rehe, mit denen er berufsmäßig viel Zeit verbringt. Er denkt sich immer wieder neue Tricks aus, um die fotogenen Waldbewohner zu außergewöhnlichen Tages- und Nachtzeiten vor die Kamera zu locken. Richtig viel Spaß macht ihm jedes Jahr das Fotografieren der drolligen Fuchswelpen. Stunde um Stunde vor dem Bau zu warten, ob sich etwas tut, ist für den passionierten Tierfotografen Entspannung pur.
