The new Wehrhahn line is here!

Take the subway directly to Foto Koch

As you have probably already noticed, the new Wehrhahn line will start on 21.02.2016, connecting the route from Wehrhahn S-Bahn station to Bilk station. With the new lines, you will find your way to Foto Koch even faster and can get off conveniently in front of our store at the Schadowstra?e U stop. The subway lines U71, U72, U73 and U83 as well as streetcars 701, 705 and 706 will take you to the Schadowstra?e stop. The Jacobistra?e stop remains the same and can also be reached in future with line 707 and buses 752,754,SB55.

Wehrhahn line

This is the new Wehrhahn line

Work on the new Wehrhahn line took more than nine years. The line is 3.4 kilometers long and starts at Wehrhahn S-Bahn station. It runs above ground as far as the Jacobistra?e/Pempelforterstra?e stop, followed by an underground tunnel via "our" Schadowstra?e subway station to Bilk station. With the new Wehrhahn line, the entire Rheinbahn route network will be converted. There will be changes, some streetcars will disappear completely, others will be renamed, many will change their routing and frequency. Numerous start and end stations will also be changed. In some places, direct connections will also be lost. The flagship of the Wehrhahn line are the six new subway stations, each of which has been individually designed by an artist and is therefore very different from one another. The costs for one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region amount to around 843.6 million euros.

22.000 tons of steel, 240,000 cubic metres of concrete, 500 kilometers of cable and 59 escalators were installed.

8 years of construction - and it's still going on

It's hard to believe, but the construction work has been going on for over eight years. A long time, which has of course had a major impact on our beloved Schadowstrasse. And the construction work will probably continue until 2020. The major projects K?-Bogen 2 and the redesign of Schadowstra?e await. However, it is not yet clear what this will look like. But we are hoping for a spacious, beautiful pedestrian zone, because that is the only thing that really makes sense.
