  • Full-frame A-mount lens adapter for Sony E-mount cameras
  • supports autofocus for A-mount SSM and SAM Lenses
  • enables real-time eye AF and AF/AE tracking
  • up to 11 frames per second
  • also enables AF and AF/AE tracking for motorless Lenses
  • compact and lightweight

The new 35mm full-frame adapter for A-mount lenses LA-EA5 allows modern E-mount cameras from Sony to be easily combined with A-mount lenses. This allows photographers to take advantage of the latest autofocus and high-speed shooting features of current models with E-mount bayonet mount even when using A-mount SSM (Super Sonic Wave Motor) or SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) lenses, or A-mount lenses without an integrated focus motor.

For example, if an Alpha 7R IV or Alpha 6600 is equipped with an SSM/SAM lens or a lens without its own focus motor - such as the Sonnar T* 135 mm F1.8 ZA or the Planar T* 85 mm F1.4 ZA - using the LA-EA5 adapter, fast continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking at up to 11 frames per second is possible. Phase-detection autofocus in the focal plane with wide-area coverage is fully supported. The same applies to autofocus with real-time eye detection for people and animals, real-time tracking, and AF/AE (automatic exposure) tracking.

The LA-EA5 has a compact design with iris drive and a newly developed compact AF drive. To ensure comfortable handling when used on an E-mount camera, the new adapter has the same diameter as the A-mount mount, perfectly matching its outer rim. The LA-EA5 is also easy to use with full-frame E-mount cameras when a vertical grip is attached to the camera.
