SIGMA's completely newly developed 24 mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary delivers the highest imaging performance right into the corners with an ultra-compact all-metal construction. This impressive I-Series wide-angle lens is now available for the L-mount and Sony's E-mount.

The 24 mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary Premium Lens is the latest addition to SIGMA's growing I-Series. It joins the four existing I-Series lenses as well as the new 90mm F2.8. This new wide-angle Lens delivers superior optical performance, offers a wide aperture of F2, features all-metal construction and is equipped with an aperture ring. It was developed from the ground up for mirrorless systems and is perfectly balanced for handling in combination with modern full-frame cameras. Its high resolving power meets all the requirements of the latest camera models with extremely high megapixel counts.

With its advanced optical design, the Lens produces sharp images with high contrast, not only in the center of the image, but right to the outermost corners of the frame. The large aperture of F2 and the wide angle of view also make it ideal for shooting the night sky, events and interiors. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it can accompany you anywhere and at any time without becoming a burden. The high-quality metal construction, as found on all I-Series lenses, makes owning and working with this lens a satisfying experience.

The new 24mm F2 full-frame Lens is designed for photographers looking for a sharp, fast and robust wide-angle lens that won't weigh them down in their camera bag. It is available for cameras with the L-mount and Sony's E-mount.

1.
I-Series|Compactfixed focal lengths in premium quality for mirrorless systems
The SIGMA I-Series consists of full-frame-compatible lenses that give users of mirrorless systems new, better alternatives - both in photographic practice and in terms of the impressive image results that can be achieved with them.

A key advantage of mirrorless cameras is their slimmer dimensions, and the new 90mm Lens is designed to complement these compact cameras without compromising on optical performance. Such a combination of outstanding optical quality with a compactness that was not possible in SLR systems points the way to the future of photography.

SIGMA recognizes that there is a wider range of photographic possibilities available today, especially since smartphones with camera functionality have become ubiquitous. But for many photographers who have more in mind when deciding to buy a camera and lens than just taking any picture, the I-Series lenses offer the ultimate combination of optical performance, convenient handling and great compactness.

Since its foundation in 1961, SIGMA has continued to perfect its performance in the development and production of lenses, taking it to an even higher level in 2012 with the launch of the Global Vision brand. From this basis, SIGMA is constantly thinking about the quality of its products, the feeling of photographing with them and the pleasure of owning them. This is how the I-Series was born.

2.
New optical performance standards in the Contemporary product line
The new SIGMA 24 mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary, like the SIGMA 35 mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary and the SIGMA 65 mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary before it, combines the highest imaging performance up to the widest aperture of F2 with a well-balanced body.

The 24 mm lens contains two SLD elements and an FLD lens to correct the longitudinal chromatic aberration to which fast lenses in particular are otherwise susceptible. Two bright molded aspheres, made possible by the advanced manufacturing technology of SIGMA's only production facility in Aizu, provide excellent correction of various aberrations. At the same time, they allow a reduction in the total number of optical elements and thus the dimensions and weight of the lens.

Considering the typical application areas of a wide-angle lens, SIGMA's lens developers have focused on achieving uniformly high detail resolution from the center to the edges of the image field. The fact that sagittal coma is also effectively suppressed makes the lens particularly suitable for astrophotography - stars are still depicted in a pinpoint shape even close to the edge of the image.

The autofocus is driven by a fast and quiet stepping motor, which brings the high optical performance to bear where you want to image with maximum sharpness.

3.
Outstanding I-Series manufacturing quality in a compact form
All I-Series lenses are pure metal constructions. The precisely manufactured aluminum components not only give the tube a sleek, elegant finish, but also guarantee outstanding durability, which improves the quality of the entire product. The use of metal materials inside the Body also ensures smooth operation of the focus and aperture ring and additional robustness. These high-precision components, manufactured with SIGMA's innovative metal processing technology, are also used in SIGMA's cine lenses for professional filmmakers. This attention to haptics and ergonomics makes working with the lens a pleasure.
