The ideal wide-angle lens for mirrorless APS-C cameras.
The SIGMA 23mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary is the ideal lens for mirrorless APS-C cameras. With an easy-to-handle angle of view, high optical performance, the speed of a large F1.4 aperture and a compact and lightweight lens body, we have incorporated our experience from the Contemporary line into a lens that is ideal for use with mirrorless APS-C cameras.

The lens offers excellent resolution even at maximum aperture and effective bokeh thanks to its F1.4 speed. The wide-angle lens proves its performance in a wide range of applications, including landscape, portrait and tabletop photography. To take advantage of the high mobility of mirrorless cameras, great emphasis has been placed on the compactness of the lens body.

Our Contemporary range includes several compact and lightweight F1.4 fixed focal length lenses in APS-C format that are surprisingly easy to carry. If you want to keep your equipment light and small, but don't want to compromise on imaging performance, then this lens will meet your needs and you won't want to give it up.

Compact body optimized for APS-C mirrorless cameras
To take advantage of the mobility of APS-C mirrorless cameras, the lens body is compact and lightweight, weighing 340g*, with a length of 76.9mm* and a filter diameter of 52mm. At the same time, the quality of the lens body itself has not been compromised. Thanks to the high-precision processing technology of SIGMA's sole manufacturing facility in Aizu, Japan, the Lens has achieved an ideal balance between excellent optical performance, based on the latest optical and mechanical design, and compactness. The AF drive system uses a quiet, very fast stepping motor. The latest algorithm enables fast focusing for uncomplicated photography.
* The data refer to the lens with L-mount.

High-quality coating
An ideal lens directs the incident light through all lenses to the sensor.

If, on the other hand, some of the light is reflected by individual lenses, not only is the light yield reduced; the reflections within the lens create ghost images and flare spots or reduce the contrast. Such effects would be particularly noticeable in backlit shots.

To prevent this, our 23mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary uses a Super Multi-Layer Coating (SML), which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is clear, sharp and high-contrast images without distracting lens flares

For APS-C cameras
The 23mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary is compatible with mirrorless APS-C cameras.
A stepper motor is used for fast focusing. The autofocus with automatic eye detection used in newer mirrorless cameras is also supported; this makes precise focusing of portraits, for example, child's play.
