The Lens uses a special RICOH prism to achieve a minimum body depth of 24 mm despite the large sensors
Improved stitching quality especially at close range
A multi-stage aperture setting makes a choice of F2.1, F3.5 and F5.6 possible

Enhanced image processor unit
New all-algorithms in image calculation improve noise behavior, light yield and quality of high-resolution images
Improved dynamic range
Raw data is now generated in addition to JPEG data

New operating concept with OLED display
0.93-inch OLED display for information on camera control and battery status
Function control via Fn key

Image processing on the computer
The JPEG and RAW images can be loaded onto the computer. There, the RAW format (Adobe® DNG) can be developed and assembled into 360° images, spherical images, etc., using the freely available plug-in "RICOH-THETA Stitcher"

4K 360° videos in high quality
For blur-free videos, the THETA Z1 has a 3-axis image stabilization
A 4-channel microphone is built into the camera, which provides spatial sound in videos depending on the viewing direction
