HD PENTAX-DA 10 - 17 mm F3.5 - 4.5 ED
Fisheye zoom lenswith outstanding optical performance, for PENTAX cameras with APS-C sensor
With the smc PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17 mm F3.5~4.5 ED [IF], RICOH IMAGING has been offering a particularly wide-angle zoom lens with circular distortion for the PENTAX system for 10 years now. This fisheye zoom lens has now been improved with important features based on the existing lens design.

As the name of the new HD PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mm F3.5~4.5 ED suggests, the high-quality, multi-layer HD coating has been applied to the optical elements to achieve higher-contrast images with greater edge sharpness without flare and ghosting.

In addition, the housing design has been completely redesigned and adapted to the current PENTAX K-series digital SLR camera Lens. When used on PENTAX cameras with a 35 mm full-frame sensor, such as the PENTAX K-1 Mark II, the lens hood can be removed to create almost round images with the typical fisheye effect.

The typical circular, but full-frame, fish-eye image creates perspectives that give images an interesting touch and turn a boring subject into an exciting, funny and attractive photo.

HD coating for optimum light transmission and minimal reflection
The lens elements of this lens are coated with the multi-layer HD (High Definition) coating developed by PENTAX, which offers significantly higher light transmission with low reflection (approx. 50% less than conventional multi-layer coatings) compared to conventional methods. This enables maximum contrast and sharpness without stray light and ghost images, even in difficult conditions such as backlighting.

Zoom lens with 180° shooting angle
With an input focal length of 10 mm and the shortest focusing distance of 14 cm (2.5 cm from the front lens), the HD PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mm F3.5~4.5 ED offers a 180° shooting angle. This enables the special and very striking fisheye shots, which are reproduced full-frame (without vignetting) on cameras with an APS-C sensor.

New housing design in the look of the current DA and DFA series
The new Lens still has the proven optical lens design of its predecessor inside. However, the body has been adapted to the design of the current PENTAX DA and
D-FA series and therefore also fits very well visually into the current PENTAX product line-up. Great importance was attached to retaining the compact and lightweight design. A new feature is the removable lens hood. This reduces vignetting when used on cameras with a 35 mm full-frame sensor, which can occur depending on the focal length set.

SP coating to prevent soiling of the front lens
In addition to the HD coating, the front lens of the Lens is equipped with an SP coating (Super Protect), which protects against grease or water and simplifies cleaning. This is an important quality feature, especially when used in unfavourable outdoor conditions.

ED glass element for high-contrast images
An ED element (Extra-Low Dispersion) has also been incorporated into the lens design, which compensates for chromatic aberrations and enables particularly clear images with high contrast.

Focus correction with Quick-Shift Focus function
The Quick-Shift Focus function enables quick and easy focus correction without switching to manual focus.

Short shooting distance
The shortest shooting distance allows ultra-close-up shots at a distance of just 2.5 cm from the front lens
