  • Reducer 0.7x
  • the EdgeHD 0.7x Reducer increases the light intensity of your EdgeHD 9.25" by a full f-stop compared to the original f/10, halving the exposure time required to capture the same brightness of the object
  • 4-lens design
  • maintains a similar flat field of view as native EdgeHD optics design
  • increases the field of view by 43% to better capture extended objects
  • Mounts directly onto the EdgeHD's connection thread, which reduces mechanical vignetting and enables use with larger (full-frame) sensors and off-axis guiders
  • retains the same backfocus as f/10 - enough space for additional accessories and a wide range of cameras
  • allows the use of existing EdgeHD T adapters with or without reduction lens
  • suitable for EdgeHD 925

Reducer 0.7x for EdgeHD 925
F/7full-frame - for all Celestron Edge-HD optics
The new reducer for the EdgeHD 925 offers an optical system with four optical elements (including lanthanum glass) specially calculated for this EdgeHD telescope, while retaining the flat field of view of the EdgeHD optics. They gain a full f-stop (halving the necessary exposure time) and achieve a 43% larger field of view. The large lenses with a diameter of up to 60 mm enable a fully illuminated image circle with a diameter of 42 mm - also suitable for large CCD sensors.

In contrast to simpler, generic reducers, Edge-HD reducers do not shorten the original backfocus of 146 mm. This means that not only any DSLR camera can be connected, but also all known CCD cameras with filter wheels, active optical systems (AO) and off-axis guiding adapters.

The 0.7x EdgeHD reducers contain lenses with an extreme refractive index, including lanthanum lenses with very low dispersion. As a result, the particularly high contrast of the EdgeHD optics remains undiminished despite the many additional lenses, and there is no chromatic aberration over a very wide spectral range.

Each glass/air surface in this lens system is multi-coated to maintain maximum transmission and color fidelity. All lens edges are carefully blackened to completely suppress internal reflections.

The elaborate CNC-milled aluminum housing ensures exact spacing and alignment of the lenses. Metal screw caps protect the lenses from dust and damage when the Edge HD Reducer is not in use. Together with the f/2 HyperStar option and the f/7 Edge-HD reducer, the f/10 Celestron EdgeHD Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is by far the most versatile telescope in its price class.
