  • Reducer 0.7x
  • optics specially designed for EdgeHD telescopes
  • with five optical elements (including lanthanum glass), while retaining the flat field of view of the EdgeHD optics
  • can be connected to any DSLR camera and all known CCD cameras with filter wheels and (AO) active optics systems and off-axis guiding adapters
  • the 0.7x EdgeHD reducers contain lenses with an extreme refractive index, including lanthanum lenses with very low dispersion. As a result, the particularly high contrast of the EdgeHD optics remains undiminished despite the many additional lenses and there is no color aberration over a very wide spectral range
  • each glass-air surface in this lens system is multi-coated to maintain maximum transmission and color fidelity
  • all lens edges are carefully blackened
the large lenses with a diameter of up to 60mm enable a fully illuminated image circle with a diameter of 42mm

  • Metal screw caps protect the lenses from dust and damage
  • suitable for EdgeHD 1100

F/7 full format - for all Celestron Edge-HD optics
Celestron's new EdgeHD reducers offer an optical system with five optical elements (including lanthanum glass) specially designed for EdgeHD telescopes, while retaining the flat field of view of EdgeHD optics.
In contrast to simpler reducers for the APS format, Edge-HD reducers do not shorten the original backfocus of 146 mm. This means that not only every DSLR camera can be connected, but also all known CCD cameras with filter wheels and (AO) active optics systems and off-axis guiding adapters.

The 0.7x EdgeHD reducers contain lenses with an extreme refractive index, including lanthanum lenses with very low dispersion. As a result, the particularly high contrast of the EdgeHD optics remains undiminished despite the many additional lenses and there is no chromatic aberration over a very wide spectral range.

Each glass-air surface in this lens system is multi-coated to maintain maximum transmission and color fidelity. All lens edges are carefully blackened to completely suppress internal reflections. The large lenses with a diameter of up to 60mm enable a fully illuminated image circle with a diameter of 42mm - also suitable for large CCD sensors.

The elaborate CNC-milled aluminum housing ensures the exact spacing and precise alignment of the lenses. Metal screw caps protect the lenses from dust and damage when the Edge-HD reducer is not in use.

Together with the f/2 HyperStar option and the f/7 Edge-HD reducer, the f/10 Celestron EdgeHD Schmidt-Cassegrain optics are by far the most versatile telescope optics in their price range.

Data:
Design: five-lens reducer that retains the flat field of view of the Edge HD telescopes
Same backfocus as f/10: Unlike universal standard reducers, the EdgeHD 0.7x reducer retains the backfocus of 146mm (C11/C14 Edge-HD), so that additional accessories and a variety of cameras can be used. Existing EdgeHD-T adapters and all existing Celestron accessories can be used unchanged together with the reducer.
A full f-stop faster than f/10: Reduces the exposure time by half with the same image brightness.
Enlarges the field of view by 43%: Ideally suited for large field images, e.g. of large-scale galaxies and nebulae.

Glass
Lanthanum glass elements: In the EdgeHD reducers, lenses made of lanthanum enable clear, high-contrast images with minimal chromatic aberration
Fully multi-coated lenses: all glass air surfaces are multi-coated for maximum light transmission and color fidelity
Blackened lens edges: all lenses have blackened edges to prevent internal reflections and increase contrast
Full-frame design
Connection to the 3.25" thread of the EdgeHD telescopes: Reduces mechanical vignetting and enables the use of larger (full-frame) sensors and off-axis guiders
Clear aperture: lenses with up to 60mm clear aperture are optimized for an image circle of 42mm diameter - also ideal for larger CCD sensors.

Mechanics
Aluminum housing: CNC-milled aluminum housing for exact spacing and alignment of the lenses.
Metal screw cap for both ends of the reducer: Protects the optics from dust and scratches.

Features:
The EdgeHD 0.7x reducer makes e.g. Your EdgeHD 1100 Schmidt-Cassergrain by a full aperture faster than f/10 and thus halves the exposure time required to achieve the same image brightness
Optics with five lens elements
Provides a comparable flat image to the original EdgeHD optics
Enlarges the field of view by 43%
Attaches directly to the 3,25" thread of the EdgeHD, which reduces mechanical vignetting and allows the use of larger (full-frame) sensors and off-axis guiders.
Provides the same backfocus as at f/10, which means enough room for modern optical accessories and a variety of cameras
Allows the use of existing EdgeHD T-adapters with or without EdgeHD reducer
